Durofix continues to adopt digital heat in its properties
Helsinki based SME property investment company, Durofix, continues the adoption of Northeast Flow’s digital heating solution in its properties. Northeast Flow assists Durofix in its heating costs optimisation.
When we met Durofix back in 2021, they were looking to look for ways to decrease their heating expenses in their properties across their portfolio. Our digital heat solution clearly offered a new and different approach from other heating methods leading to monthly savings. Additionally, as we provide our equipment without incurring acquisition costs for the customer, this convinced Durofix of our service.
The functionality of our digital heating solution as a secondary heat source in collaboration with Durofix has been confirmed in several different locations. Lessons have been gathered from working with gas, electric, and soon with oil heating. After our first joint project, we've also developed our own heat distribution package, which has significantly streamlined the installation process.
Naturally, digital heat is not suitable for all locations, but for many locations, it is a competitive option. We can sincerely recommend it to others as well.
- CEO of Durofix, Teijo Suojärvi
Durofix has achieved property-specific savings in monthly energy costs ranging between approximately from 20% to 40%. The extent of the savings largely depends on the condition of the property technology and the existing heating method alongside which the digital heating service is installed. All of this without the need for extensive equipment purchases.
"What is it, really? Digital heat is a system that utilizes the waste heat from servers, where the heat generated by the server is transferred to the property's water-based heating system through a heat exchanger or coil. We already use digital heat in several locations. It is noteworthy, however, that in all locations additional heat is also needed, especially during cold periods. Additional heat can be obtained, for example, with electricity, gas, oil, or district heating. The systems in use have operated flawlessly from the beginning, and we have achieved significant savings in our property heating costs as well as had the ability to avoid large investments." comments Teijo Suojärvi, CEO of Durofix.
"The delivery has been carried out on a turnkey solution basis. The efficiency remains the same throughout the year, and we will continue to implement this system in suitable locations in the future. Personally, I have experienced digital heat as an alternative to air-to-water heat pumps and other heat pump solutions. Naturally, digital heat is not suitable for all locations, but for many locations, it is a competitive option. We can sincerely recommend it to others as well." adds Teijo.
"We are extremely excited about our ongoing collaboration with Durofix. We believe that we can continue to positively impact their business by ensuring low heating costs for them."' added Peetu Korkeila, COO of Northeast Flow.
